Jerry Annala is coordinator beginning July 21
Plan for July 22 :
The only plan for the Tevatron is to produce Luminosity.
Middle of the night studies are not requested at this time. If the store falls out early, recover the Tevatron and prepare to shoot again. It is a good idea to run a Proton only store (uncoalesced bunch on the helix) if a store is ended by a quench, or if the Tevatron is accessed. An access to the experimental halls should not require a Proton only store.
If there are problems with the Tevatron, follow these guidelines:
Studies Request: (only studies during reasonable hours make sense at this time).
Measure and tune up the open helix ramps.
Bruce and Jim Steimel could use two hours with coalesced beam to work with the bumper magnet.
We need to do some timing in of the vertical pinger again (shot setup or dedicated time). |
On call Schedule:
Access Requests: (after hour call in is appropriate through Scott McCormick)
Change the sump pump in E1.
Install the crystal collimator
Mechanical Group could use 2 hours in each enclosure to change pumps
Other maintenance:
Upgrade BLMs in houses in F1 and A0.
New Firmware for the 460 cards - To upgrade a house, make a C50 save file, turn of the regulators for that house, and let the expert install the new firmware. Next, re-load the proper groups from C49 (see Pat's guide), and then restore the TOP file.
Some of mechanical maintenance requests can be completed from upstairs if there is time without beam. |
Notes:
A new version of page T134 has been sent through Mecca without complete testing. It can only be tested by running the sequencer after a quench. Run as normal, and if the program crashes, it will be looked at as soon as possible.
