Operation After a Camac Card Replacement

Any 46x card replacement requires a reload from C49.  If the card is a 460 that controls a correction dipole,  an additional from TOP (currently page C50) is required.

In these instructions, "->" means to select menu item.

Generic 46x replacement:

Go to C49 -> Adjust Active

        ->Commands->setup 46x's->reload 46x's->reload 46x's for group->select appropriate group

This should configure the cards in the group, and load all of the necessary tables with values.  If this card is not a dipole corrector, things should be ready for operation.

Reloading a 460 dipole controller:

Go to C49 -> Adjust Active

        ->Commands->setup 46x's->reload 46x's->reload 46x's for group->select appropriate group

The dipoles are arranged in groups as follows:

B0 HOR Dipole Corr: HA38 through HB22 (including C:HA48 and C:HB12)

B0 VER Dipole Corr: VA37 through VB21 (including C:VA48)

D0 HOR Dipole Corr: HC38 through HD22 (including C:HC48 and C:HD12)

D0 VER Dipole Corr: VA37 through VB21 (including C:VA48)

F0 HOR Positions: HE44 through HF22

F0 VER Positions: VE43 through VF21

Arc HOR Dipole Corr: T:E0DOG plus all horizontal correctors not listed above.

Arc VER Dipole Corr:  All vertical correctors not listed above.

After the C49 reload is complete, reload the most recent TOP save file.

Go to TOP -> dfg save/resto -> RESTORE DFG FROM FILE ->    select most recent save file.

The order is important.  The C49 reload is done before the restore from TOP.

TOP does not use the dipoles listed in parenthesis, so a full reload must be done from C49 BEFORE a restore from TOP.  Also, TOP does not know about injection ramps on the F0 dipoles.  The only place these tables are saved is in C49.
